The Rev. John Buchheister, 87, a retired Elder, died Dec. 8. He was a district superintendent in two districts 1979-84. A viewing will be Thursday, Dec. 13, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Ruck Funeral Home in Towson and a Memorial Service will be held Friday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. at Towson UMC, 501 Hampton Lane in Towson. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the very popular former pastor of the Westminster United Methodist Church, Rev. John Paul Buchheister.

Rev. Buchheister was the pastor here in Westminster from 1964 to 1971, the father of Claire Buchheister Holmes and the father-in-law to Jake Holmes.

Rev. Buchheister was a wonderful pastor. He was so important to many of us who lived in a Westminster that is very much, at this point, a bygone era. He led by example, thought word and deed. Many of the important things in life that sustain us to this day, may be traced back to Rev.
