Tuesday, December 20, 20100, Westminster, MD – The City of Westminster, in collaboration with Ravens Roost #115, and McDaniel College, presented the Baltimore Ravens with the "Heart of Westminster " Award on Saturday, December 17, 2011.

"Poe," Official Baltimore Ravens Mascot, accepted the Award on behalf of the Baltimore Ravens. Poe took Westminster's Heart back home to Ravens Headquarters in Owings Mills, where it shall be proudly displayed and serve as a constant reminder that our beloved Baltimore Ravens are always welcome because "home is where the heart is.”

The award ceremony commenced at the McDaniel College Arch and was immediately followed by an impromptu "Ravens Main Street America Parade" down Main Street in Westminster in community-wide support of the Baltimore Ravens and to celebrate the community's proud history with them.

Parade disbanded at the City's Municipal Key Lot on Longwell, where the community united for warm reception, including live entertainment provided by Wylde Fire Band via C and J Stage Company, and autographs from former Ravens Joe Maese and Bennie Thompson. Grand Marshal of the Ravens Main Street America Parade was Dr. Henry B. Reiff, dean of Graduate and Professional Studies of McDaniel College. Master of Ceremonies was Kirk McEwen, 98 Rock & WBAL.

Parade Participants included enthusiastic Ravens Roosts from around the region, Mayor Kevin Utz, Santa and Mrs. Claus with Carroll County Farm Museum on Westminster Fire Department fire truck, Tevis Oil Tanker, Greg Hudnet's '52 Ravens-Themed Buick, Green Turtle, Carroll County Car Club, Baltimore Ravens Hooligans, and Old Westminster Reality.

All event participants and guests were invited to grab a bite to eat and do some last minute holiday shopping on Main Street in Westminster. The celebration continued throughout the evening at Rafael's Restaurant, 32 W. Main Street, home of Ravens Roost 115.

The Ravens Roost #115 is a nonprofit organization situated in Westminster, Maryland dedicated to the promotion of professional football, raising funds for local charities, and to bringing the community together.

Kevin Utz for Westminster mayor campaign signage

April 17, 2009

Mr. Utz’s latest literature and signage campaign has recently appeared on the street of Westminster:

I will continually strive to increase the business, job and economic base for the City of Westminster.

As a life-long Carroll County resident and career Maryland State Trooper, I will work to make Westminster the safest city in Maryland!

I will seek to improve the City's infrastructure to provide better roads and water and sewer service.
