Margo Huffman isn’t your typical high school senior.

"The Winters Mill High School student is a regular volunteer at the Johns Hopkins Believe in Tomorrow House, a high school cheerleader, a member of the National Honor Society and runs her own organization, called Margo’s M.O.D.E.L.S., or Making an Ongoing Difference in Every Life through Service.

For all of her hard work, Huffman has won Youth Philanthropist of the Year, an award given annually by the Community Foundation of Carroll County.

The Community Foundation of Carroll County will honor Huffman and the other awardees at the eighth annual Philanthropists of the Year ceremony at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 16 at the Portico of St. John Catholic Church in Westminster. There are five categories of awards: individual, community business partnership, nonprofit organization, youth and legacy philanthropist."
